‎‎Amnesty International - Human Rights Defenders in MENA‎‎‎Write for Rights: Call for the immediate and unconditional release of Musaad Abu Fagr, an Egyptian human rights defender and prisoner of conscience, in administrative detention.
Musaad Abu Fagr has been in administrative detention since February 2008, and despite repetitive court orders for his release, the Egyptian M...inistry of Interior renews the detention order against him.

‎‎Amnesty International - Human Rights Defenders in MENA‎‎‎Ten human rights organizations, including Amnesty International, send an open letter to the Syrian Bar Association and the President of the Damascus section of the Syrian Bar Association, expressing concerns about the disciplinary hearing of Muhannad al-Hassani before the Bar Association.
Syrian human rights lawyer and... defender is currently detained awaiting trial for his human rights activities. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years imprisonment. At the same time the Syrian Bar Association has initiated a disciplinary action against al-Hassani that could see him banned from working as a lawyer.
